Meet Dr. Morales
Dr. Morales was born in Cali, Colombia, a city celebrated for its warm days and refreshing evening breeze. During the 1960s, Cali was a small village; by the 1970s, it had transformed into a civic-minded city. The 1980s saw it rise as the “Capital of Salsa,” while the 1990s brought challenges from the drug wars. Today, in the new millennium, Cali has shifted its focus toward public health and community development to address social inequalities.
She grew up in a family rooted in love and solidarity. Both parents, who became lawyers early in their marriage, instilled a passion for justice and service. Dr. Morales earned a Medical Doctor and Surgeon degree from Universidad Libre of Cali, an institution with a strong commitment to community health. After graduation, she began her career with the local government, where she worked for nearly 20 years, focusing on public health initiatives centered on supporting pregnant women, children, and patients with chronic illnesses. Through these experiences, she developed a strong belief that health results from a delicate balance of genetics, environment, culture, and social support.
Dr. Morales seeks a balance in her life between being, doing, having, and growing. As she says: “To be with family, friends, and community. To do meaningful work that positively impacts quality of life. To have enough resources to support myself and my work and grow as a human being, a female medical doctor, learning something new every day.” As an immigrant, she finds joy in her family and friends and feels continuously inspired by her patients, who often teach her valuable lessons about physical and mental health.
With nearly 750,000 residents, Polk County is a vibrant community that attracts both retirees and young families. This growth has led to an increased demand for accessible and affordable healthcare services. In the Lakeland area, healthcare options range from large providers to independent practitioners and urgent care services. However, challenges like rising healthcare costs, limited availability, and language and cultural barriers often make it difficult for many to access transparent, affordable, and convenient primary care.
BrainKlast is a small, independent clinic led by a dedicated physician who offers personalized care at affordable rates. Operating primarily on a membership basis, we aim to stand out by providing flexible appointment times, same-day visits, and a strong focus on preventive education. With over 25 years of experience in primary care, Dr. Morales is proud to lead BrainKlast in delivering patient-centered services. From easy online booking to attentive follow-ups, we prioritize building strong doctor-patient relationships and maintaining accountability.
